Why I Built JoyRoster
I've coached all my kids across soccer, basketball, running, t-ball, and softball. Over the years I tried Remind, TeamSnap, and several others — but I never liked forcing parents to download an app. And honestly, many of these apps have gotten worse over time.
As a coach, the one thing I need to know before I plan anything is:
"Who do I have coming tonight?"
For rec and semi-travel teams, numbers change constantly. If I know the headcount, I can adjust my drills, rotations, and game plan. But managing RSVPs through group chats, spreadsheets, and reminders took way too much time.
JoyRoster fixes that.
With fast RSVPs, simple scheduling, and the ability to notify parents, grandparents, or anyone else — all without an app — everything stays in sync and the chaos goes away.
Right now I'm focusing on teams in Northwest Ohio. My kids attend Lake Schools in Millbury, and I've coached throughout this community's rec leagues. I'm also inviting coaches throughout Northwest Ohio to join the beta.
